Is there
such a thing as bad luck? Are some people more prone to misfortune than others?
Personally I
don’t believe in luck, good or bad. I accept that things happen that could be construed
as lucky or not, but surely we all get that. And don’t they say that luck evens
it self out over time?
So why are
some people luckier than others?
I personally
think it all has to do with something called “Sensory Acuity”. For those that
haven’t heard of this before, it’s a NLP (Neuro Linguistic
Programming) phrase. It deals will being more aware of everything that is going on
around you.
Let me explain.
Lets say you’re out to buy yourself a car. You choose the
colour, the make and model. Have you noticed that as soon as you leave the showroom you see the
exact same car; make, model and colour as the one you’ve just chosen? These cars were always
there, however it just didn’t register with you until now and that’s because your
senses are now more tuned into the choice you've just made.
I think Luck works in the same way, if you class yourself as
being unlucky then that’s because you just focus on things that go wrong in
your life. I bet you have just as much good fortune as bad, you just choose to
focus on one rather than the other.
So if you want to be luckier, just focus on the
good fortune that comes your way. You'll be surprised at how lucky you actually are!
