7th Picture

I’m sure most of you think that being a shopkeeper is all about late night parties, fancy cars and chasing women!

Alas the truth is what you see in today’s picture.

This is what I have to do first thing every morning. This pile of Newspapers has to be sorted, counted and all the supplements inserted. This is such a time sensitive job that any delays (as there was today) have a huge knock on affect for the rest of the morning.

My working day starts at 5am every morning and if everything is on time then I can have the first set paper rounds ready for 6am, in time for the papers lads to deliver your newspapers.

All newspapers and magazines have to be done by 7am because that’s when all the deliveries start to arrive.

So my day is non stop until around 10am and that’s when I start on all the paper work. This is just as important but not as strenuous work.

So the next time you come in for a paper remember the hard work that has gone in to get it onto the shelves for you.
